Completed in late winter of 2019, this project was built on a relatively small Northcote block. We created a structured garden with loose and diverse planting, which changes with the seasons.
The new front garden incorporates new off-street parking and a new crossover. While the rear garden works around the existing pool shell and studio. A tired old garden was removed along with the pool fence and paving surrounds. New custom-wide Bluestone pool coping allowing access around the pool in a tight space. This was abutted by a new Spotted Gum timber deck which was added to create one soft usable surface and visually widen the narrow space between the studio and the pool.
The bespoke steel pool fence runs over the timber and divides the garden beds allowing planting to spill between softening the lines. Large format bluestone steppers traverse the garden beds. The whole garden was planted with seasonally changing grasses and perennial combinations. With the nature stip becoming an indigenous grassland punctuated by vibrant Purple Salvia nemorosa.
